Environments
We opened class discussion talking about how our learning environments have an effect on how well we can pay attention along with respond in a teaching enviroment. I wonder how this may affect authors and where they choose to write their works. Would Sputnik Sweetheart have been different if written in a more pleasing environment?

That is an interesting thought! I have thought a lot about what environments allow me to write well. I need different envoronments for different kinds of writing. To write fiction, I need to be in a place apart, where I can almost dream my way back into the imaginary world I am inhabiting while I write the story, and I do this best in a vey simple setting. But my acadmeic work, it seems, I can do in an office setting. I wonder which came first-- doing certain kinds of work in certain settings which I thn got used to,OR did I seek out a different setting where I could begin to do a different kind of work? I'll have to think about that...
